St. Joseph's College seeks an Admissions Counselor at the Long Island campus in Patchogue, NY
Summary of Position:
Reporting to the Senior Associate Director of Admissions, this position has a primary focus on new student recruitment and admissions counseling. The position incorporates a full range of admissions responsibilities including establishing and strengthening recruitment in Nassau County, representing the College to secondary school counselors, prospective students, and family members, evaluating admissions applications, and contributing to the planning and implementation of a variety of admissions projects and activities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred. The qualified candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills. The position requires outstanding organizational skills, attention to detail, flexibility, stamina and a finely honed sense of humor. Exceptional interpersonal skills are required along with ability to function in a team-oriented, mutually supportive working environment. Candidates should have computer competency in Word, Excel, Publisher, and Power Point. Volunteer or paid experience in a higher education setting, preferably in an Admissions Office, is desired. This full-time position requires evening and weekend hours, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11am-7pm, Wednesdays and Fridays 9am-5pm and Saturdays 9am-3pm.
