Assistant/Associate Professor, Decision, Risk & Operations

Summary Description: The Decision, Risk and Operations Division is seeking to hire qualified junior faculty members to start July 1st, The Division has teaching responsibilities for management science, statistics, and operations management courses at the MBA and Ph.D. levels. The appointment may be at the assistant or associate professor level, depending on the qualifications of the candidate. Candidates for an associate professor level, tenure-track appointment should have a Ph.D. from an accredited institution, a record of being an outstanding scholar in every respect, including research and teaching, and should combine exceptional disciplinary training with a strong interest in the professional mission of the school. Candidates for an assistant professor level, tenure-track appointment should have, or be close to completing, a Ph.D. from an accredited institution, demonstrate promise of becoming an outstanding scholar in every respect, including research and teaching, and should combine exceptional disciplinary training with a strong interest in the professional mission of the school. A candidate who is close to completing a Ph.D. will be appointed as an instructor until the semester after completion of their doctorate degree.

As a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the Council of Ivy Group Presidents (Ivy League), it is imperative that members of the Columbia University community, in all matters related to the intercollegiate athletics program, exhibit the highest professional standards and ethical behavior with regard to adherence to NCAA, Conference, University, and Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and Physical Education rules and regulations.
