Digital Marketing Manager
The New School
Position Responsibilities: The New School, a leading research university in New York City with focus on liberal arts, social sciences, design, and performing arts, has an exciting opportunity for a digital marketing manager in our Department of Communications and External Affairs (CEA). The selected candidate will work to increase awareness of The New School and its various brands among current and prospective students, alumni, the New York City community, and other targeted constituencies by leveraging multimedia channels including print, website, video, podcasts, and social networking media. S/he will work with the director of Marketing to identify the best interactive tools for various audiences and ensure that marketing messages are consistent with the brand. S/he will consult with internal clients to develop strategies based on the goals of the university and its parts. The selected candidate will also be called upon to project-manage integrated marketing initiatives, which will involve interfacing with other CEA offices, including Online Media, Publications, Public Relations, Design, Video, Broadcasting, and Production. S/he will manage projects from beginning to end, overseeing scoping, planning, execution, implementation and rollout, post-implementation analysis, and close. You are familiar with content management systems and design software as well as search engine optimization and keyword advertising through Google and other vendors. Most important, you are a user of the Web: You blog; you tweet; you are on Facebook; you post videos on YouTube or Vimeo for fun. You are interested in working in a university environment, always curious about new and inventive ways to reach prospective students. You thrive on constant change and have strong interpersonal skills. You are a self-motivated and independent thinker who meets deadlines, negotiates conflicting priorities, and gets results. You love marketing. You are curious about what is new and exciting about the Web. Finally, and importantly, you have a great sense of humor. Responsibilities: -Report to the director of Marketing; work closely with associate director of Marketing. media buyer, online media staff and public relations staff -Generate, develop, and manage multiple digital and marketing campaigns and initiatives -Analytically assess marketing campaigns, monitoring ROI to measure effectiveness -Develop offline and online marketing plans -Collaborate with media buyer to strategically plan advertising for eight university divisions, more than 70 degree programs, and a variety of university events -Oversee SEO (search engine optimization), SEM (search engine marketing), and PPC (paid search marketing) -Manage relationships with external partners (agencies) and vendors to optimize performance -Manage and implement email marketing initiatives for lead generation, prospective student mining, and university event promotion -With the assistant press officer, manage the university's evolving social media strategy for prospective student outreach, event promotion, and branding and develop reports on its effectiveness -Supervise part-time student marketing assistants -Perform related duties as required

Minimum Qualifications: Requirements: -Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, computer science, or related field preferred -4-5 years in integrated marketing and advertising, including SEO and SEM, Web design, new and emerging media, and video production -2-3 years in account management, project management, or client relations -Experience maintaining websites for advertising components and ROI -Proficiency in both PC and Mac -Demonstrated knowledge of print, audio, video, graphics, and Web-editing software such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash, and Final Cut -Experience managing databases and content
