Assistant Professor of Sociology

Position Responsibilities: The Department of Sociology at The New School for Social Research and Eugene Lang College, The New School for Liberal Arts, invite applications for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor position, beginning fall 2010. We are especially interested in candidates with primary research interests in race, gender, urban life, or media. Our department emphasizes theoretical, historical and cultural approaches in sociological research. An ability to teach required courses on sociological theory or qualitative research methods is a plus, as is an international comparative approach. Candidates will be expected to teach at both the graduate and undergraduate level.
Minimum Qualifications: Applicants should have a completed PhD by July 1, 2010
